DESTINATIONS & ACTIVITY HIGHLIGHTS

GREATER WINDHOEK:
Windhoek, translated from the Afrikaans language to “Wind Corner,” is Namibia’s capital and largest city. Hosea Kutako International and Eros Airports service the city and, together with Namibia’s excellent road network, provide easy access to most of the country, although distances can be vast. Positioned centrally, Windhoek links important coastal towns to the country's hub and is connected by well maintained national roads to South Africa and Botswana. We will be here our first and last evenings as it close to the international airport.

SWAKOPMUND: Set along Namibia's spectacularly scenic coast, the seaside town of Swakopmund is known for its wide-open avenues, colonial architecture, and its surrounding otherworldly desert terrain. Now a seaside resort town, Swakopmund is the capital of the Skeleton Coast tourism area. The quirky mix of German and Namibian influences and cool sea breeze make it a very popular destination. We will get to enjoy the awesome and ever changing desert landscapes of the Namib Desert, including the impressive Gaub and Kuiseb Canyons as we head to the famous coast.

SOSSUSVLEI: one of the most sought after and unique destinations in the country. The stark yet ethereal beauty of Namibia is on full display here with the skeletal remains of old camel thorns strewn amongst salt pans, surrounded by some of the most spectacular sand dunes in the world. This endless expanse of wilderness is home to desert adapted species such as the Gemsbok (Oryx).

DAMARALAND: This vast desert landscape is known as one of the most beautiful regions in Namibia. We will take in the dramatic vistas, catch a glimpse of the rare desert-adapted elephant, and enjoy spectacular stargazing in crystal-clear night skies. Our guides will take us on a scenic drive via ephemeral river systems in search of desert-adapted elephants. The wildlife roams large tracks of unfenced desert landscapes and we will be guided through this untouched gem of Namibia. A highlight includes the opportunity to go on a totally exclusive excursion to track for the elusive black rhino that inhabit this area.

ETOSHA WEST: Etosha West is a new addition to this world-famous wildlife sanctuary. We can look forward to exploring the magnificent scenery of this remote north Namibian landscape. The area boasts numerous waterholes attracting elephant, rhino, leopard, lion, and a variety of buck. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the rare Hartmann’s Mountain Zebra and black-faced impala.

ETOSHA EAST: Etosha East is a protected sanctuary and known as one of the most accessible game reserves in Southern Africa. This 5000-square-kilometre Etosha salt pan makes up a large area of the the park and can even be seen from space. This remote area teems with abundant wildlife such as lions, elephants, black rhinos and giraffes, as well as a variety of birdlife featuring flamingos, ostriches, eagles, hornbills, and owls.
